Senior IoT Developer at Monitizer

We’re looking for a Senior IoT developer there is highly motivated to play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our end-to-end Monitizer® IIoT platform that drive innovation and enhance the efficiency of our customers’ metal casting operations.

You'll be part of a global digital team, reporting directly to the SVP, Head of Monitizer. This position can be based remotely in Europe, but regular presence at the Monitizer headquarters in Munich, Germany is required.

Your new role

As a Senior IoT Developer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our end-to-end Monitizer® IIoT platform that drive innovation and enhance the efficiency of our customers’ metal casting operations. Therefor you will work with our software development partners to design, develop and maintain full-stack IIoT Platform and applications, including frontend (using latest technologies such as ReactJS), middleware and backend components.

Your key tasks will be to:

  • Collaborate with software development partners for full-stack IIoT Platform, including ReactJS frontend, middleware, and backend components
  • Create internal automation tools using bash, Python, GIT, Docker, and ExpressJS
  • Develop and maintain data transformation applications on AWS/Alibaba cloud
  • Build data pipelines from customer data sources to EDGE devices
  • Utilize IoT protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT, proprietary) for industrial data retrieval
  • Develop Python scripts and algorithms to transform data into KPIs for customer dashboards
  • Create queries in TimescaleDB for KPI development
  • Implement robust IoT security measures for device, data, and communication protection
  • Proactively monitor and troubleshoot IoT systems, perform maintenance tasks
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for IoT projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Participate in agile development processes
  • Support internal teams and customers at tier 2 and tier 3 levels

 

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • A degree in Engineering (Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics/Industrial) or equivalent.
  • Expertise gained as a Full Stack, DevOps, Software Developer, or Software Integrator, especially in the IoT, Manufacturing, or Process industries.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Linux, Bash and Javascripts, Python applications, and automation tools.
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of cloud services, computer networks, IoT protocols (MQTT, OPC-UA, Restful API design), and software deployment.
  • Expertise in working with AWS cloud platform and time series database
  • Prove your proactive nature with outstanding problem-solving skills.
  • Fast learner with a keen understanding of technological and business value drivers.
  • Bring your knack for improving process efficiency and documentation, akin to a legal expert.
  • Communicate seamlessly with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-driven and highly motivated team player, ideally with international exposure.
  • Passion for driving business value through new digital technologies.
  • Willingness to embark on occasional travel opportunities.
  • Good written and verbal English skills
