As good corporate citizens, ‘better’ has many dimensions for us. It is about sustainability and safeguarding our planet for future generations, but it is also about health and working conditions, about protecting, and supporting the communities we live, work and operate in, and about finding smarter, less wasteful, more efficient ways of doing things.
This means driving change within our own business every day, but it also means effecting positive change in the world – through our role as influencers and leaders, as customers and technology suppliers. We can contribute towards a better world, so we will. Because it is the right thing to do.
We identified the impact of greenhouse gases (through our supply chain, our customers, and our own internal use) as a risk to the environment, which is why in 2022, we want to start being held accountable against our ambitions, as we sign up to the Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTi) to set emissions reduction and net zero targets at the level needed to protect the planet from catastrophe.

GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY AMBASSADORS
As a token of appreciation, all 31 of our 2023 sustainability ambassadors were gifted locally sourced Bonsai trees. These volunteers drive local changes, such as implementing reusable water bottles, electric charging points, and electronic pay slips.

WIND FARM IN INDIA
Our wind farm investment in Tumkur, India has started!
This means we will have green electricity supporting our facility in India. This is another small step to make our operations more sustainable.
CHINA MILK RUN
The trudge of bag of milk is coming as scheduled in Changzhou, China, which is a platform for the public to donate milk for those families who cannot afford milk. The families and colleagues from Engineering, Operation, Financial , IT and HR attended it and we finished 10KM city walk. While helping the children, we all enjoyed the physical exercise.
CHINA INSTALLS SOLAR PANELS
The installation of solar panels started at our facilities in Changzhou. They will help us lower our emissions consumption, and then they are even installed right on our roof of our manufacturing site! This is one of the few steps we are taking to make our operations more sustainable.

The celebration of Chinese New year. Delivering lucky red packet is a tradition in Norican China at the first working day. Every year, Mr. Wei will deliver them to our employees in Norican Changzhou Plant. It means a good and prosperous new year’s coming. This year is the year of Dragon which symbolizes the energy, intelligence and power in China.

At this year’s Metal China and Die casting China we saw significant improvements in our printing habits, only printing 10% at Metal China compared to 2022 and 4,2% at Die casting China compared to 2022. A decrease of 3650 printed papers in total which is equivalent to 18,250 kg CO2

At our Simpson global tech center open house, staff received small tokens of appreciation—coasters and mousepads made from recycled rubber. These gifts embody our commitment to sustainability. Additionally, the company we sourced them from will plant a tree seedling on behalf of Simpson, furthering our eco-friendly initiatives. 🌱
Italy
We are thrilled to share some good news about our ongoing efforts to reduce plastic waste and promote environmental sustainability in IPG Italy. Since installing the water dispensers, we've seen a dramatic decrease in the consumption of plastic bottles. Last year, in the same 5 months, we used a staggering 1,086 plastic bottles and this year this number has dropped to just 375 bottles! This represents a reduction of 65%!
UK
Gingerbread Socks are for sale in the main kitchen to support World Down Syndrome Day on March 21st. All proceeds will go to Down Syndrome Cheshire, a local charity based in Northwich. Another small local initiative to help support the local communities inspired by the people close to us!
