High scores placed us in the top 35% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis in the last year, and even more impressively, in the top 7% of special equipment manufacturers. EcoVadis has worked with over 150,000 businesses worldwide assessing ESG and sustainability performance. Succeeding with a global vision for sustainability 

Our EcoVadis award applies to our global operations. Every team member in every location plays a part. As an example, in the last year, our team in India has delivered on many fronts to improve how we do things. 


Renewable power

We’ve agreed a “power wheeling” deal with a 5.4MW wind farm to ensure our Tumkur manufacturing facility is powered entirely by renewables.

Treated water recycling for conservation

We’ve implemented a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) at our Tumkur plant to enhance water conservation efforts. The treated water is now utilized for gardening and toilet flushing, significantly reducing freshwater consumption. Since implementation, this initiative has helped save over 994,800 liters of water annually—that's nearly 10,000 showers.

Student engagement

We’ve continued to support local students with a dedicated student engagement and scholarship program – a program, now in its 10th year, that has helped over 4,000 students.

Grzegorz Kalin-Czerski, Global Lean Champion at Norican, explains,  

"The EcoVadis framework continues to be an invaluable benchmarking platform - giving us visibility into how our sustainability and ESG performance compare with peers and the broader corporate world, and where we should look next to ensure we keep improving.

Our work focus shifts from setting corporate governance to setting and tracking the execution of sustainability targets. In this context, our efforts to set and track emissions reduction targets as part of the Science Based Targets initiative continues to drive important and necessary changes in environmental areas. Similarly, we have made progress in rolling out our sustainable procurement policy and implementing practical measures to support it, such as training and supplier audits. It’s also great to see improvements in both Labor & Human Rights and Ethics, with our HR team’s ongoing work in employee development and well-being making an impact."
