Inauguration of state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at DISA India Limited, Tumakuru, Karnataka

 

DISA India Limited (DIL) – part of Norican Group, is delighted to announce the opening of its manufacturing facility in Tumakuru near Bengaluru, Karnataka.

In an exciting ceremony on 11 November 2022, this state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated by H.E Freddy Svane, The Ambassador of Denmark in India, and Anders Wilhjelm, our President & CEO, in the presence of the DIL Board of Directors, valued customers & suppliers, and other key stakeholders.

The sprawling site of 20,000 sq.m. will be the central manufacturing facility for key Norican technology equipment for DISA - moulding machines, sand plants, as well as Wheelabrator shot blasting equipment, industrial filters, and the aftermarket distribution centre. 

Our new facility will serve India, Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, and select European and CIS marketsThe equipment manufactured in India shall serve the end markets of Automotive, Construction, Energy, Steel and general industries, such as pumps, motors, pipe fittings and gearbox manufacturers through the foundry industry.

In his opening speech, His Excellency the Danish Ambassador to India stated:

In 2020, India and Denmark launched the Green Strategic Partnership. Both countries have ambitious goals within the climate agenda. India is the world’s third largest CO2 emitter and by 2030, the country is expected to double its carbon emissions. Denmark has an ambition to reduce CO2 emissions to 70% by 2030 and aims to undertake international leadership on SDG 7 on affordable and clean energy.

Together, India and Denmark will demonstrate to the world that delivering on ambitious climate and sustainable energy goals is possibleIn 2021, DISA India Ltd were the first among their peers to commit to setting ambitious emissions reduction targets under the Science-Based Targets Initiative. They have pledged to reduce their global carbon footprint meaningfully, measurably, and in a way that reflects the urgency of the climate crisis. This commitment to sustainability and vision to implement can be a great game changer in the coming days”.
